Isn’t self-care a bit of a minefield? On the one hand, there’s the simple self-care you desire, such as a lengthy, relaxing bath. On the other hand, there’s self-care, which feels like more effort. It’s easy to want to do the things that don’t feel like they need much work. However, just like with your exercises, challenging yourself with self-care will help you achieve even better results.
And when it comes to taking care of oneself, those outcomes are crucial! Spending some time and attention on yourself might help you feel more balanced, healthier, and less stressed. It’ll be worth it, ladies!
I understand that, with everything else on your plate, finding time for self-care and make it part of your daily routine might be difficult. However, I have a few self-care tips that will just take you 10 minutes or less. Seriously! You can do a lot of good for yourself in just ten minutes. And none of it is very difficult!
Are you ready for my favorite quick and easy self-care ideas? Take a look at them. Even if you only incorporate one into your daily routine, you will feel lot better!
Meditate for 10 minutes daily
Meditation is one of those self-care ideas that can be intimidating if you don’t know where to begin. However, meditating reduces stress and improves self-awareness while also making you feel better. It might even improve your creativity and patience!
My top tips for making meditation feel a lot less difficult are as below:
- Begin with ten minutes every day. Seriously, anything is possible in ten minutes! For a week, try carving out this small chunk of time in your calendar and observe how you feel.
- Take advantage of guided meditations. If you haven’t figured out how to quiet and settle your mind, simply sitting there can be difficult. To help me hold this space for myself, I enjoy employing guided meditations. You can find a lot of these on YouTube and Spotify (just type in “10 minute guided meditation”), or you can use an app. Headspace and Calm both offer free trials, so you can try them out. On LSF the App, I also have mindfulness and calming yoga lessons.
Write in a journal
Journaling allows you to check in with yourself on a regular basis. It’s a place where you can express what you’ve been feeling – even if you didn’t realize you were feeling it! You may open up and let it all go because it’s a completely secure, private environment.
Journaling, in my opinion, is quite cathartic. And, once again, this is one of those self-care suggestions that can be completed in under 10 minutes! Make some time for yourself when you first wake up or before going to bed. You can journal while snuggled up under the blankets, and you’ll be astonished at how refreshed your mind feels afterwards.
Include greens in at least one meal per day
This is another one of those self-care ideas that may be quite simple once you get into the swing of things. And it shouldn’t take you the entire ten minutes. Toss together a small side salad to serve with your lunch or dinner, or include a handful of greens in your morning smoothie.
Leafy greens are high in vitamins and minerals, and many of them also include fiber. When you incorporate greens into at least one meal a day, you’re essentially supplementing your diet with nature’s multivitamin.
And I understand how difficult it is to incorporate greens into one’s diet as your daily routine. It can sound a little blah at times. But seriously, it’s not that hard. You’ll be amazed as the meals can be just as easy and delicious, and the best thing is that they will truly assist you in losing weight and feeling great. Greens will become second nature to you. Seriously.
Roll of foam
If you’re seeking for self-care things you can do while watching TV or talking on the phone, I’ve got you covered! When I’m just chilling, I like to leave my foam roller out so it’s quick to grab.
Foam rolling may actually be whatever you want it to be! Lean back and roll your shoulders if you’re feeling tense in them. Have you noticed how sore your glutes are? They should be rolled out! Foam rolling might be one of those self-care suggestions that works for you, rolling whatever portion of your body needs additional attention that day.
Run just once a week
Allow me to explain. I understand that this is the most difficult of the self-care suggestions on this list. Running, on the other hand, provides a slew of advantages. It allows you to breathe fresh air and obtain some vitamin D from the sun. It’s an opportunity to go out and about in your community. It doesn’t require a gym membership or any special equipment (except your sneakers, of course). It also strengthens your muscles and bones while improving the condition of your heart and lungs!
What’s my recommendation? It doesn’t necessarily have to be your daily routine. Once a week, try to go for a 10-minute run. Girl, you’ve got this! Simply give it a shot.
